Original artwork by ANN ROTH
Sometimes making art can be a slow and methodical process and at other times it’s all about looseness and freedom of movement. These two opposing approaches are on display in this small abstract painting.
Smears of paint mixing on the panel and exuberant gestural marks made by scratching through wet paint are tempered by the considered geometry of the quiet passages in this painting.
The deep edges of the panel are painted in a dark blue to complement the colours of the painting. Rendered in a slightly masculine colour palette, it would work well in any room with a grey, blue or white colour scheme.
