MARCHLAND

Although these paintings may bring to mind a location you know or perhaps visit in the physical world, they are not about specific places, but rather they are landscapes of sensation and imagination.  

Like the month of March that seems as if it's not quite winter and not quite spring, these paintings feel as if they occupy a transitional space:  A borderland between two territories or between two seasons.  

It’s that place at the edge of somewhere that is neither fully of one nor the other.  They are about that feeling you get when standing on the edge of the sea, imagining the shore and the possibilities beyond what your eye can see.  Or the feeling of shifting between rest and awakening.   

Each of these mixed media paintings on deep wood panels measures approximately 41 cm x 41 cm x 4 cm (16” x 16” x 1 5/8”).  Finished with a UV protectant varnish in a satin finish the paintings are ready to hang directly on your wall.  

The sides of each of the panels are painted in a deep blue which complements the colours of the painting.  Equally happy singly or as part of a pair or grouping, hang them on the wall just as they are for a contemporary look or frame them in a style of your choosing.
